Trip to Arizona - Day 2 Mississippi

It may be winter somewhere but in southern Mississippi, it's spring.  Azaleas

A shot of my Garmin GPS showing that in 200 miles, we will be turning right to stay on I-10.  On the right side, Garmin says that it's 1.1 miles to a gas station, 36 miles to a rest area and 0.1 miles to a place to eat. Lower right shows that we have 1572 miles to go to our destination.

McDonald's was out of large cups so they gave me two small cups of coffee.  It doesn't matter to me as I always pour the coffee into the "Pilot/Flying J" cup anyway for safety reasons.

I always share my Egg-McMuffin with Tippy but she always complains that her share is too small.  Poor Tippy.

Treky is often asked about how far he can go on a tank of gas.  This shows that on a full tank of gas, he can be expected to go 534 miles.  However, when the gas gauge gets below half full, we stop at the next place - I need to get out of the driver's seat occasionally anyway.  That mileage averages about 17.0 miles per gallon.  Treky's gas tank holds 31 gallons.

Mississippi and Louisiana highways are straight and flat.

This little lady welcomed us to the John C Stenis NASA Center Mississippi rest area.

Maybe this is a little easier to read.

Day two was easy traveling.  Treky thinks that we will be in Texas tomorrow.

Trip to Arizona - Day 1 MIssissippi

We spent our first on-the-road night at the Oaklawn RV Park in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Nice clean park - About $20.00

Can you spot Treky there between the big guys?  Poor Treky, he has no slideouts.

But what he does have is a brand new Florida license tag.  Treky says that the man at the tax collectors office who issues license tags told him that the VP stood for Vice President.  Tippy laughed, "Vice President of what?  Treky: "Florida".

Tippy met some new friends.

Tippy's new friends told him that they are AKC registered Puff Puff Teughs.   Tippy told them that he is a registered Libertarian.

I get a great Verizon phone signal in this park.  Look at that antenna.  That's why.

In addition to RV spaces, this park rents these little mini houses.  Neat I think.

They have a band stand but no band that we heard.  Tippy is checking our the underbrush for snakes.

Can you think of anything better for supper than a peanut butter and cherry preserves sandwich. Potato chips just add the little bit extra.

Tomorrow, we'll continue driving West on I-10.

The Day Before We Go to Chandler, AZ

Tippy says, "I don't know where all my toys are.  I know every one by name and smell.  I have 25 toys - Some are older than six months.  I miss those toys that I cannot find".

"The reason that I can't find all my toys is that we are still living out of boxes".

When I get sleepy, any old pillow will do - even Ron's foot.

Did you know that I am a high wire artist?  I can jump from the arm of the couch all the way (8 feet) to the chair where I like to sleep.

Boy, that's a long way down.

Treky drove up to the shopping center and bought our supper.

All three of us like Chinese food.  We are leaving very early in the morning to go to Chandler, Arizona so Chinese food keeps Ron from having to cook and clean up.

I bet that old tree is over 100 years old.  It's near the dog park in our community.

It rained yesterday so the Resurrection Fern is pretty and green.

Treky woke us up at 4am - We are on our way to Arizona - This is what I-75 North looks like at that time of day.

We will try to cover our first day of travel by posting tomorrow.  Finding WiFi is much better now that Verizon has given us "unlimited" data.  So, we can use the phone as a hotspot without worrying about using up our data allotment.

The Little Cloud That Cried

Once, we were camping in an area where we had no phone signal, no wifi and no TV.  It had rained all day and we were confined to Treky's tiny interior.  Treky said, "I'm bored - let's leave. There is nothing to do."  Tippy said, "I could tell you a story."  Yeah, do that, Treky and I said.

Tippy's story is about the Little Cloud that Cried.  She said that it is a real story that really happened.

Tippy's story: " Once there was a very small cloud.  It was so small that it could not collect moisture to cause rain.  It was so small that it could not provide shade.  It was too small to be any good for anything.  Several times it tried to merge with larger clouds so that it could provide rain and shade - but the larger clouds just sent it away - it was too small to be of any use to anyone.

This made the little cloud so sad - so sad that it began to cry.  The little cloud had almost no moisture.  It had only enough moisture to cry only one tear. The little cloud cried that one tear and it fell slowly to the ground as the little cloud watched.  The one tear fell in a spot where nothing grew but that one little tear provided enough moisture for............

one tiny blue flower to bloom and it was surrounded by eight even tinier little white blooms with a yellow center.  Oh how happy that made the little cloud.  Even the big clouds were impressed with the beauty that the little cloud created.  They all invited the little cloud to join them.  The little cloud was so happy."

Tippy swears that this is a true story - who knows maybe it is???????

We leave on next Monday for Chandler, Arizona. Ride with us.

Interior of Our New Home

Our main dining room - not much room for dinner guests

Living room area - That's Tippy in what she calls "her chair".

If you have ever moved, you know that we will be living out of boxes for a while.  I put stuff away and forget where I put it. Tippy not helping - still in her chair.

Kitchen area

Our fridge is the only "full size" appliance that we have - everything else is "RV" size.

This little cubby hole will be my computer work station.

Our bedroom - behind the mirrored doors is a very large closet

 Better shot of the bed

Moving To Florida

Ron, Tippy and Treky had a team meeting and decided that we spend so much time in Florida that we might as well move there.  So........

We loaded stuff that we absolutely have to have to live.  This is how the back seat of the car looks loaded.

Tippy checking to be sure that all of her stuff is loaded.

The area behind the rear seats is also packed full.

You know Tippy - she had to check that out too.

We are really downsizing.

More on out new home later,

Ron, Tippy and Treky
