Battle of Rivers Bridge # 2

The Battle of Rivers Bridge is a South Carolina state park and a state memorial site.

This is a picture of nasty old Sherman.

You can see that the walking trail wanders around down into a valley.

Two of the generals - You can bet that they didn't get their feet wet.  The Private soldiers were just cannon fodder.

Part of the first plaque on the walking trail.

Artist conception - Troops taking a coffee break

Bulldozers didn't exist - These defenses had to be dug by hand - Generals were exempt from this kind of work - or any work for that matter.

Next, in a day or two, I'll show how an old man and his dog decorate for Christmas.
