Treky's Brain

Treky's in the driveway - He's always ready to travel.  Treky is a 2015 Roadtrek 190 Popular Anniversary Issue Class B motorhome.  He's built on a 2014 Chevrolet 3500 Express Van chassis.  He is equipped with four AGM house batteries, 225 watt solar panels, a 3000 watt inverter, and an extra alternator under the hood to act as a generator.

With all that stuff, Treky feels that it is important that he keeps me informed about what's going on inside his body.  He has the usual engine temperature, oil pressure, battery and fuel gages.  He also shows me the outside temperature, the direction in which we are traveling, his total mileage, our speed and the gear that we are in.

He tells me how far we can go until we run out of gas.  When I fill up, he can go about 500 miles.  Usually we get about 16.9 miles per gallon. Treky holds 31 gallons of gas.

He shows me the engine revolutions per minute.  At a speed of 65 miles per hour, Treky's rpm is usually about 1700 rpm.

Treky keeps up with when his oil needs changing.  Here he says that he has 10% oil life remaining.  I have calculated that this means we can go about 700 more miles maximum before we must change his oil.

He even tells me his tire pressure.

Front and rear tires.

Since he was manufactured in August 2014, his  engine has operated 1026.9 hours.

I bought Treky in November 2014 - almost two years ago.  During that two years, Treky has safely transported Tippy and me 53,323 miles and has shown us so many wonderful places in North America and has led us to meet so many wonderful people who have become our friends.

Life is good to the three of us - me, Tippy and Treky.  We believe that everyday is a gift and we intend to take advantage of everyday.

Tippy and I thank Treky for being such a wonderful member of our team.  We could go nowhere without him.

The day after tomorrow, we head to the beach.  Yeah!!
