Tippy has been fussy and irritable all day - says she's bored siting around the house - wants to travel.
I don't know how Tippy did it but when I woke up this morning, there sat Treky in the driveway. So, we loaded up and headed west.
As we are going southwest on Highway #1 just south of Augusta, it looks like we may run into some rain. That's a black cloud there ahead.
This is our destination - - The Ocmulgee National Monument. It is located near Macon, Georgia - - about the middle of the state.
The Visitor's Center sign indicates that Tippy is welcome if she is on her leash. She never gets out without being on her leash. Also, picnic areas, rest rooms and hiking are available.
The Visitor's Center - Super Modern Design. Tippy thinks it's out of place in this ancient setting.
I'm skipping ahead to get to the meat of this place. 17,000 years of continuous human habitation. Right here where I am standing, someone else stood here 17,000 years ago - I wonder what they looked like - would they like me and Tippy?, Wonder - Wonder - Wonder.
This is a map of the National Monument showing the points of interest and trails.
Trail info. Tippy and I walked about four miles while we were here - It was hot.
This is a representation of a Woodland House.
Tippy says, "Lets go in and cool off".
Info about some of the people who lived here long ago and the Woodland House.
If we can find WiFi, we will finish this tomorrow. We will be at the Georgia Good Sam Rally in Perry, Georgia.
