Kings Mountain Military Park # 3

Artist conception of the battle.  Patriots defending their position with farm tools and hunting rifles.  Elite Tories advancing with their superior equipment and muskets.

This trail led us to the base of Kings Mountain where much of the fighting took place.

Battlefield Trail.  A beautiful restful walk - worth the time and effort even if there was nothing of interest here.  Tippy-Too liked it because it was shady.

This is neat.  I have never seen this anywhere else.  You use your cell phone to call the 864 number, the dial 12, press 2, and you get a recording about what happened during the battle at this location.  No fees involved.  I like this. I like it a lot.

It's been about a hundred years since this forest was harvested.  This is all old growth.

What I said

The base of the mountain - Beautiful woods.

These trees will turn red, gold and green in a few weeks.  We're still on Battlefield Trail.

Tippy-Too says, "The signs are to keep Ron from getting lost.  His sense of direction is non-existent.

The Visitor's Center

On the way out of the park - isn't that nice.  Ron, Tippy-Too and Treky say the same thing.  We hope you visit our blog again.

We won't publish our blog again until the last of next week.  We are going to the Good Sams of Georgia rally in Perry, Georgia next Thursday.

Thanks,

Ron, Tippy-Too and Treky
