This trail led us to the base of Kings Mountain where much of the fighting took place.
Battlefield Trail. A beautiful restful walk - worth the time and effort even if there was nothing of interest here. Tippy-Too liked it because it was shady.
This is neat. I have never seen this anywhere else. You use your cell phone to call the 864 number, the dial 12, press 2, and you get a recording about what happened during the battle at this location. No fees involved. I like this. I like it a lot.
It's been about a hundred years since this forest was harvested. This is all old growth.
