Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming

Entrance to the monument.  It is in Wyoming but we were camped near Sturgis, South Dakota - a distance of about 70 miles.

Our first sighting of the tower - about 20 miles away.

The tower is by far the most popular national park or monument that we have visited.  There was a very long line and wait to get into the gate.  Most folks had to pay an admission fee and that slowed the line.  We simply showed out Golden Eagle card and were waived in.

Our view while waiting in line.  You can also see the Devils Tower Trading Post.

There is a KOA campground and a post office located right at the entrance to the monument.

Visitor's center - not elaborate but good enough to get my passbook stamped.  Parking was a serious problem but we were extremely lucky as someone was pulling out and we got their place near the visitor's center.

Treky in a "pull-out" - - Can you see the tower in the distance?

I love indian lore - Hope you can read it.

We don't know where we will go next.  Maybe rest in a campground for a few days or not.  We'll have a team meeting to decide.  It's Tippy-Too's turn to decide.
