Custer State Park (Dakota)

Ron, Tippy-Too and Treky all agree that Custer State Park near Rapid City, SD is the best place we have visited on this trip.

On the Wildlife Loop Road

Tippy-Too says that she can see prairie dogs out there

Tippy-Too also says, "I'm glad we've got Treky - I feel safe when we are riding with him."

Buffalo

Long shot

Antelope grazing

Wild horses

Mules right on the highway - now watch this..........

They stopped traffic.  Kids got out of their cars to play with the mules.

Better view of mules and kids\

Treky likes the little white one.

This one tried to get into Treky - Tippy-Too said, "Get that thing out of here!!!"

Look what the temperature is doing again.  110 degrees (F).

A deer, I think.  Taken out Treky's passenger side window.  I've been advised that it's an antelope - Thanks.

Bye, Custer State Park.  We loved you.

  2. Nice photos. No matter how often we see it, it is hard to grasp the sheer magnitude of the vistas. Thank you for sharing.

The "deer" was actually another antelope. They all look at bit ragged around the edges this time of year. Sort of like a permanent bad hair day.
