Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico

There was a line to take pictures of the park entrance sign.  Instead of waiting, I took a picture that included an unknown man.

Along the road in New Mexico, you will see tourists attractions and stores that have gone out of business and are vacant.

Just inside the Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Rugged mountain but look at that clear blue sky

This is the only straight portion of the road in the park.

I thought you might like to see some cactus.

View from first pull-off

Native Americans took shelter under these rocks - Shelter from the cold and heat and sun.

Better view

Just a minute ago, we were on that road down there.  Lots of 180 degree curves in this approach to the park visitor's center.

Tippy-Too in the heat and sun  It's illegal to leave a pet in a vehicle alone.

Treky says, "It may be illegal but I have air conditioning and I'll take good care of Tippy-Too".

Maybe, Treky, but we have been careful to obey the law even if we disagree with it, so into the Kennels goes Tippy-Too.

Tippy-Too didn't seem to mind being in the crate - but Ron was very unhappy about it.  By the way, 10 minutes in the kennel costs $10.00.

A different kind of cactus

The Visitor's Center

We were at an elevation of 4440 feet above sea level - Thin air - I get short of breath up here.

We have been in 100+ degree heat for several days. We may rearrange out schedule and head north into Colorado looking for cooler weather - Well just Maybe??
