Big Bend National Park, Texas

As shown, Big Bend National Park is located on the Rio Grande River.  It is the largest national park and the  least visited.

You don't just happen upon Big Bend NP. You have to be going there.  The nearest little town (population 5000) is 80 miles north of Big  Bend.  The nearest Walmart is over 100 miles away.

Note the temperature at 10am, 109 degrees.  A minute before I took this picture, the thermometer registered 111 degrees.  Hot here in Big Bend.

Two lane highway - 75 MPH speed limit.  Treky:  "Not for us".  Turns to the left.

Turns to the right.

Distant scenery

Who put that rock up there (up there is approximately 5000 feet altitude.)  That mountain is a long way off,

Those mountains are in Mexico.

The only restaurant for miles is adjacent to our campground.  For  lunch, I had a Taco Salad - Very good and very big - could not eat it all.

Pictures cannot do justice to the scenes here.  Come look for yourself.

Tomorrow, we go to the Rio Grande.

Ron, Tippy-Too and Treky
