Badlands National Park & Wall Drug Store

The Visitor's Center is 22 miles into Badlands National Park.  There is a lot of construction going on to the roads leading to the park.

This is the landscape just prior to entering the park - nice - not bad

The beginning of the so called badlands

Those are people hiking around the the badlands

This does indeed look like badlands

A bench is provided should you desire to sit and watch the badlands.

Or if sitting on a bench is not your style, you can hike up to the top of this hill to get a better view of the badlands.

The most popular attraction that we found in this area is Wall Drug Store.  It is not anything but a tourist trap.  There are signs all along the interstate advertising Wall Drug Store.  They sell everything in the way of food and souvenirs.  The actual store covers several square blocks.  It is located in the town of Wall.

 Better shot

Every parking place is taken and people park a mile of more away and walk just to say that they have been to Wall Drug Store.

Parking is impossible.   Treky thinks that the national parks would like to have this kind of attraction for the  public.
