Remembering Acadia National Park July 2013

On the morning of July 29th, 2013, Tippy and I decided to visit Acadia National Park.  It is located east of Bangor, Maine and approximately 50 miles from Bangor.  There are three automobile-accessible National Parks on the East Coast - There's Acadia and Everglades.  What's the third?  See the end of this post.

This is the Loop Road.  It goes around and through Acadia National Park. - a beautiful drive with different scenery at every turn.

One of the attractions at Acadia National Park is Cadillac Mountain.  This sign directs us to the top.

View of the bay

Bald Mountain - Tippy says, "It looks like Ron's head.

View of the fog.  I'm told that there is an abundance of this in Maine.

We found this waterfall on the way down Cadillac Mountain.

Downtown Bar Harbor - Lot of tourist's shops - about like Gatlinburg, Tennessee or any beach town.

The harbor at Bar Harbor.

The third National Park on the east coast is Congaree Swamp in South Carolina

As time permits, I will post "Remembering" visits that we have already made to National Parks.  I think that we have already visited 17 - there are 57 in all - 7 are not accessible by automobile - so, we have 33 to go.  We will try to hit all 33 this summer of 2016.
