President Franklin D Roosevelt's Little White House #1

President Franklin D Roosevelt was first elected in 1932 and he died in office in 1945.  He was elected for four consecutive terms.  He had polio and could not walk.  He selected Warm Spring, Georgia as his "get-a-way" from Washington and it was believed at that time that bathing in the warm springs would aid in his recovery.

Since this is an inside tour, Tippy and Treky stayed in the parking lot.

Museum, house and grounds entrance

Wax figure of President Roosevelt.  He smoked cigarettes constantly and used  a cigarette holder.  Throughout the house, the furniture has cigarette burns.

He was a good driver

A picture of the controls....All hand-operated.

Lots more to come from the "Little White House"
