Going to Amelia Island, Florida

When we left South Carolina, the temperature was 25 degrees (f).  Brrrr!  Also as you can see we have now accumulated almost 30,000 miles in the last 13 months.

As usual, our first stop was at McDonald's for our sausage biscuit and a large coffee with two Splendas in it.  Does it look like Tippy wants to share?

The little town of Barnwell, SC - about 40 miles from our home - has a nice little park for visitors.  Tippy appreciates Barnwell for providing this park because when we head South, it provides a place for him to "exercise" right after his breakfast.

This is the bridge over the Amelia River.  The Amelia River is what separates Amelia Island from the mainland; thereby, making it an island.

The Amelia River.

The town on Amelia Island is Fernandina Beach - it a very old and historic town.

There are lots of old and beautiful homes in Fernandina Beach.

And Churches

Tomorrow, we will go to Fort Clinch State Park and spend the night in the campground there.  It is right here on Amelia Island.

See you then,

Ron, Tippy and Treky
